What Will I Learn?

The specific topics covered by the course include:

  • Work Health and Safety Framework
  • Consultation, representation and participation
  • Role of the HSR in Issue Resolution and minimising risks
  • Inspections, Notificable Incidents and Incident Investigation
  • Provisional Improvements Notices (PINs) and ceasing unsafe work
Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at:

  • Workplace Health and Safety Committee members (HSCs)
  • Workplace Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs)
  • Line Managers
  • Workplace Health and Safety Managers
Assessment

There is no formal assessment process however, students are required to attend full 5 days and participate in the activities through out the course. On successful completion of this course, students will be issued with a Statement of Attendance.

Course Delivery

The course will be delivered via a face-to-face format in AST's training rooms or at the client's premises, depending on requirements and numbers.

Training Material

Participants will receive Course Notes and have access to the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations.

Renewal

As a HSR or deputy HSR for your workgroup, you are entitled under the WHS legislation to receive training which includes a five day initial training course and then refresher training to be undertaken every 12 months (as of 29th July 2024).
