Course Description: |
This nationally recognised course provides the skills and knowledge required to respond to a child or infant experiencing a medical emergency. It includes CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis management, basic first aid, and reporting responsibilities. It meets the ACECQA (Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority) requirements for educators and support staff in early childhood, school-age care, and education environments. |

Assessment: |
Theory: Written and/or verbal questions to demonstrate understanding of emergency response procedures and first aid principles Practical (including physical requirements): Participants will complete CPR and first aid scenarios involving infants, children, and adults using manikins and props. Note: Practical tasks involve kneeling, lifting, bending, and applying compressions. A reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required to complete these tasks effectively. |
