Pre-requisites:

Participants must hold current Statements of Attainment for the following units:

HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

and one of the following:

UEECD0007 – Apply work health and safety regulations, codes, and practices in the workplace

or

UETDREL006 – Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker
If not yet completed, this training can be delivered prior to the course.

Course Description:

This unit provides the skills and knowledge required to perform a rescue from an elevated work platform (EWP) where a worker has become incapacitated. The course covers risk assessment, emergency procedures, safe rescue techniques, and the use of fall arrest and recovery equipment.

This course is essential for personnel working in the electrical supply industry or construction sectors where EWP operations are carried out.

Assessment:

Theory: Written and/or verbal assessment covering emergency planning, EWP risks, and rescue procedures

Practical (including physical requirements): Participants will perform a simulated rescue from an elevated work platform using harnesses and rescue equipment.

Note: This course involves working at height, using fall protection equipment, and performing physical rescue tasks. A good level of physical fitness, coordination, and confidence working off the ground is required. Students must have access to a compliant EWP for the practical assessment.

Course Outcomes:

Upon successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for:
UETDRMP005 – Perform Elevated Work Platform Rescue


Refresher Training:

Refresher training is generally required every 12 months to comply with electrical safety and WHS obligations.

This Nationally Recognised Training course is delivered face-to-face by qualified and experienced trainers, ensuring a high standard of practical instruction.
