Course Overview
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to provide waxing services to remove unwanted facial and body hair. It requires the ability to consult with clients to select suitable wax products to provide waxing services. The waxing service can be a single service or form part of a series of services.

This course applies to beauticians and beauty therapists who work in beauty or hair removal salons. In this environment they work as part of a team and make independent decisions within a defined range.

Course Details	This course will cover the following topics: Preparing the service area and the client Safe working practices The features of hot and strip wax Applying wax for all body areas (excluding Brazilian waxing) Procedures for specific treatment sites Recognising adverse affects Feedback and aftercare Pre-treatment strategies Rebooking clients
Entry Requirements	To enrol in this course, the following requirements must be met: 16 years + (parental consent required if under 18). Year 12 or equivalent Mature age students RPL if able to demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge.
Dress code	Whilst in the salon, the following dress code applies: Black long pants Black enclosed soft sole shoes Shirt (this is supplied in training kit) Hair up, neat and tidy Minimal jewellery No mobile phones Arrive 10 minutes before practical session is due to start Models for student services are to wait in the front of the Salon
