Security Tri-Annual Refresher (QLD requirements)

• HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid (or current equivalent)

Queensland security licence holders are required to complete refresher training every 3 years to maintain their licence. This nationally recognised training ensures security officers remain up to date with safe work practices, conflict management, defensive techniques, and first aid.

This course is delivered on behalf of All States Training by approved third-party trainers.

1 Day/face-to-face

• Must hold a current Queensland Security Licence.
• Must be undertaking tri-annual (every 3 years) refresher training as required by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).
• Basic English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
• Current photo identification.

Theory:

• Written and/or oral assessments covering legislation, conflict negotiation, and first aid.

Practical (including summarised physical requirements):

• Demonstrate conflict negotiation and risk control in simulated scenarios.
• Apply safe empty hand techniques for controlling persons.
• Perform first aid responses including CPR, casualty management, and use of equipment.
• Physical requirements: Students must be able to perform CPR on the floor for at least 2 minutes, demonstrate safe restraint techniques, and carry out role-play scenarios requiring movement, standing, and verbal communication.

This course is suitable for:

• Licensed Queensland security officers whose 3-year refresher is due.
• Security personnel working in retail, events, venues, corporate, or mobile patrol roles.
• Individuals needing to meet OFT licensing renewal requirements.

Participants will develop knowledge and skills in:

• Conflict negotiation and de-escalation techniques.
• Managing security risks safely and lawfully.
• Defensive and restraint techniques using empty hand skills.
• Applying work health and safety (WHS) principles in the security industry.
• Providing first aid response in line with workplace and industry requirements.

Upon successful completion, participants will meet the tri-annual refresher training requirements set by the Queensland Office of Fair Trading (OFT) for ongoing security licensing.

This refresher training must be completed every 3 years to maintain a current Queensland Security Licence.

This Nationally Recognised Training course is delivered face-to-face by qualified and experienced trainers, ensuring a high standard of practical instruction.

1. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN): Basic English, reading, writing, and numeracy skills are required.
   
2. Unique Student Identifier (USI): You must hold a valid USI to enrol.
   
3. Identification Requirements: Please bring three forms of identification, with at least one containing a photograph.
   
4. Arrival Time: We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled course start time.
