Cash-in-Transit (CIT) Skill Set

• CPPSEC2110 – Monitor and control individual and crowd behaviour to maintain security
• CPPSEC2111 – Apply security procedures to protect critical infrastructure and public assets
• CPPSEC2112 – Apply security procedures to protect transport and logistics operations
• CPPSEC3114 – Control security risk situations using firearms* (if armed CIT is required)
• CPPSEC3115 – Carry, operate and maintain revolvers for security purposes* (armed CIT – revolver)
• CPPSEC3116 – Carry, operate and maintain semi-automatic pistols for security purposes* (armed CIT – pistol)

*Note: Firearms units are only required where the role involves armed cash-in-transit duties.

The Cash-in-Transit (CIT) Skill Set provides the essential training to prepare security officers for the specialist role of transporting and protecting valuables such as cash, jewellery, and sensitive assets. Training focuses on operational safety, vehicle procedures, communication, and legal responsibilities in high-risk CIT environments.

This course is delivered on behalf of All States Training by approved third-party trainers.

1 Day/face-to-face

• Current Queensland Class 1 Security Licence.
• To undertake armed CIT units: must hold (or be eligible for) a Firearms Licence and complete the Firearms and Weapons Safety Course.
• Basic English LLN skills.
• Current photo identification.

Theory:

• Written and/or oral knowledge assessment covering legislation, WHS, CIT procedures, and firearms safety (if applicable).

Practical (including physical requirements):

• Conducting simulated CIT operations.
• Applying safe procedures when handling and transporting valuables.
• Role-play scenarios in conflict management and incident response.
• Physical requirements: Students must be able to perform vehicle entry/exit drills, carry valuables securely, and complete firearms handling tasks (for armed CIT).

• Licensed security officers seeking employment in the CIT sector.
• Security professionals working with financial institutions, armoured vehicle services, or logistics companies.
• Officers looking to expand their licence conditions to include the Cash-in-Transit function.

• Operational requirements for cash-in-transit activities.
• Risk assessment and safe planning of CIT runs.
• WHS obligations and situational awareness in high-risk environments.
• Security vehicle procedures and equipment use.
• Lawful use of force and firearms safety (if undertaking armed CIT units).
• Communication, incident reporting, and emergency responses.

Upon successful completion, participants will meet the training requirements to apply for a Cash-in-Transit endorsement on their Queensland Security Licence.

Statement of Attainment issued for the selected units, including:

• CPPSEC2110 – Monitor and control individual and crowd behaviour to maintain security
• CPPSEC2111 – Apply security procedures to protect critical infrastructure and public assets
• CPPSEC2112 – Apply security procedures to protect transport and logistics operations
• Firearms units (if applicable for armed CIT roles)

Refresher training is recommended every 3 years, or as required by QPS, OFT, or employer policies. Armed CIT officers must also meet mandatory firearms requalification requirements

This Nationally Recognised Training course is delivered face-to-face by qualified and experienced trainers, ensuring a high standard of practical instruction.

1. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN): Basic English, reading, writing, and numeracy skills are required.
   
2. Unique Student Identifier (USI): You must hold a valid USI to enrol.
   
3. Identification Requirements: Please bring three forms of identification, with at least one containing a photograph.
   
4. Arrival Time: We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled course start time.
