Course Overview
This nationally recognised course equips elected Health and Safety
Representatives (HSRs) with the knowledge and practical skills required to effectively represent workers in health and safety matters.
Participants will gain a strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management principles, consultation processes, and the powers of HSRs
under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld). The course includes training on issuing Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) and
directing unsafe work to cease.
It is approved by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) and is mandatory for all newly elected HSRs in Queensland.

Course Description: |
This Work Health and Safety Representative (HSR) course is approved by WorkSafe Queensland and provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to fulfil the role of a Health and Safety Representative in the workplace. It covers interpreting WHS legislation, identifying and managing risks, issuing PINs (Provisional Improvement Notices), and participating in incident investigations and workplace inspections. |

Refresher Training: |
As of 29 July 2024, Refresher HSR training is mandatory every 12 months under WHSQ regulations. A 1-day refresher course is available and must be completed annually to maintain compliance as a Health and Safety Representative in Queensland. |
