This nationally recognised unit covers the safe and efficient operation of a tracked front end loader in accordance with WHS legislation, manufacturer specifications, and workplace procedures. It includes hazard identification, load handling techniques, safe use of attachments, and routine maintenance.

Theory:
Written and/or verbal assessment covering WHS responsibilities, machine operation, load handling, and safe work procedures.

Practical (including physical requirements):
Participants will demonstrate:

• Planning and preparing for tracked loader operations
• Conducting pre-start and operational checks
• Loading, carrying, and dumping materials safely
• Using attachments appropriately
• Completing shutdown and securing procedures

Note: This course involves climbing into and out of machinery, standing for extended periods, and performing moderate manual handling. Students must have access to a compliant tracked front end loader in safe working condition for the practical assessment.

Further Course Information

To successfully complete the course, students are required to provide one of the following:

• Letter of Support – from the student’s employer, supervisor, or site manager who has relevant experience with the machine and has observed the student operating it competently,
  OR
• Logbook – recording recent operating hours and tasks completed.
  The logbook can be completed prior to the course. If it is not completed before training, the trainer will be required to return at a later date to finalise the assessment sign-off with the student.

• Conducting pre-operational checks and maintenance

• Use of attachments such as buckets, forks, and rippers
• Hazard identification and control measures
• Safe shutdown and securing of equipment

Upon successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for:
RIIMPO322E – Conduct civil construction tracked front end loader operations

Refresher training is recommended every 5 years, or sooner if required by workplace policies, site requirements, or changes in equipment and legislation.

This Nationally Recognised Training course is delivered face-to-face by qualified and experienced trainers, ensuring a high standard of practical instruction.

1. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN): Basic English, reading, writing, and numeracy skills are required.
   
2. Unique Student Identifier (USI): You must hold a valid USI to enrol.
   
3. Identification Requirements: Please bring three forms of identification, with at least one containing a photograph.
   
4. Arrival Time: We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled course start time.
