This nationally recognised unit covers the safe and efficient operation of tractors in accordance with WHS legislation, manufacturer specifications, and workplace procedures. It includes hazard identification, operating techniques, load handling, and maintenance of the machine.

Theory:
Written and/or verbal assessment covering WHS responsibilities, machine operation, and safe work procedures.

Practical (including physical requirements):
Participants will demonstrate:

• Planning and preparing for tractor operations
• Conducting pre-operational checks
• Safely operating the tractor for a range of tasks
• Using and removing implements
• Completing shutdown and securing procedures

Note: This course involves climbing into and out of machinery, standing for extended periods, and performing moderate manual handling.

Further Course Information

To successfully complete the course, students are required to provide one of the following:

• Letter of Support – from the student’s employer, supervisor, or site manager who has relevant experience with the machine and has observed the student operating it competently,
  OR
• Logbook – recording recent operating hours and tasks completed.
  The logbook can be completed prior to the course. If it is not completed before training, the trainer will be required to return at a later date to finalise the assessment sign-off with the student.

• Safe operating techniques in various terrain and conditions
• Attaching, using, and removing implements (slasher, auger, bucket, etc.)
• Load handling and transport procedures
• Hazard identification and risk control measures
• Safe shutdown and securing of the tractor

Upon successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for:
RIIMPO315E – Conduct Tractor Operations

Refresher training is recommended every 5 years, or sooner if required by workplace policies, site requirements, or changes in equipment and legislation.

This Nationally Recognised Training course is delivered face-to-face by qualified and experienced trainers, ensuring a high standard of practical instruction.

1. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN): Basic English, reading, writing, and numeracy skills are required.
   
2. Unique Student Identifier (USI): You must hold a valid USI to enrol.
   
3. Identification Requirements: Please bring three forms of identification, with at least one containing a photograph.
   
4. Arrival Time: We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled course start time.
