Theory:
Written and/or verbal assessment covering legislation, WHS procedures, crane operation, and load calculations.
Practical (including physical requirements):
Participants will demonstrate:
- Planning and preparing for crane operations
- Conducting pre-start and operational checks
- Lifting and placing loads safely
- Operating the crane within safe load limits
- Following shutdown and securing procedures
Note: This course involves climbing onto equipment, standing for extended periods, manual handling, and upper body
movement. Students must have access to a compliant vehicle loading crane in safe working condition for the practical assessment..
Further Course Information
To successfully complete the course, students are required to provide one of the following:

Letter of Support – from the student’s employer, supervisor, or site manager who has relevant experience with the
machine and has observed the student operating it competently,
OR
-
Logbook – recording recent operating hours and tasks completed.
The logbook can be completed prior to the course. If it is not completed before training, the trainer will be required to return at a
later date to finalise the assessment sign-off with the student.
