MSMPER300 Issue Work Permits                                       MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis.

This nationally recognised unit equips participants with the skills and knowledge required to issue work permits in accordance with workplace procedures and relevant safety requirements. It includes identifying the scope of work, reviewing hazard controls, confirming permit conditions, and monitoring the completion of tasks under permit conditions.

Approx. 4 hours | Face-to-Face 

Participants must hold a Statement of Attainment for one of the following units prior to enrolment:

• MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis

Theory:
Written and/or verbal questions covering permit types, safety requirements, and issuing procedures (Basic English literacy and numeracy required).

Practical (including physical requirements):
Participants must demonstrate the ability to complete and issue work permits in a simulated workplace setting.

Note: Tasks may involve reading permits, completing checklists, and conducting briefings.

• Permit issuers or safety officers in mining, construction, utilities, or industrial sectors
• Supervisors responsible for high-risk work or confined space entry
• Site personnel required to oversee or authorise permit-controlled tasks

• Types of work permits (hot work, confined space, electrical, etc.)
• How to identify hazards and implement control measures
• Procedures for issuing, suspending, and cancelling permits
• Communication protocols and documentation requirements
• Monitoring compliance and safe completion of permitted tasks

Upon successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for:

• MSMPER300 Issue Work Permits
• MSMWHS201 Conduct hazard analysis

There is no formal refresher training requirement for this unit. However, refresher training is strongly recommended every 2 years, or as per workplace WHS procedures, especially for those in high-risk or regulated industries.

This Nationally Recognised Training course is delivered face-to-face by qualified and experienced trainers, ensuring a high standard of practical instruction.

1. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN): Basic English, reading, writing, and numeracy skills are required.
   
2. Unique Student Identifier (USI): You must hold a valid USI to enrol.
   
3. Identification Requirements: Please bring three forms of identification, with at least one containing a photograph.
   
4. Arrival Time: We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled course start time.
