CPCWHS1001

This nationally recognised course, commonly known as the White Card, is the mandatory minimum training required for anyone working on a construction site in Australia. It provides the essential knowledge and skills to identify construction hazards, manage risks, and follow safe work practices in line with current Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation.

Approx. 5 hours

Theory:

• Multiple-choice and/or short answer written questions

Practical (including physical requirements):

• Verbal interaction, risk scenario discussion, and simulated safety activities
• Participants must be physically able to demonstrate safe practices, such as donning PPE and identifying site signage

Upon successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for:

• CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry

• Anyone starting work in the construction industry
• School-based trainees or apprentices
• Labourers, tradies, and contractors
• Supervisors, engineers, and project managers working on-site

• Workplace health and safety legislative requirements
• Construction hazards and risk control measures
• Communication and reporting of WHS concerns
• Incident response procedures
• Safe work practices and PPE usage

There is no mandated refresher for this unit; however, workers may be required to complete refresher training if they have not worked in construction for an extended period or if site-specific requirements apply.

This Nationally Recognised Training course is delivered face-to-face by qualified and experienced trainers, ensuring a high standard of practical instruction.

  Important Information for Participants:

1. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN): Basic English, reading, writing, and numeracy skills are required.
   
2. Unique Student Identifier (USI): You must hold a valid USI to enrol.
   
3. Identification Requirements: Please bring three forms of identification, with at least one containing a photograph.
   
4. Arrival Time: We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled course start time.
