Course Description: |
This unit provides the foundational skills and knowledge required to apply food safety and hygiene practices in hospitality and retail food environments. It is the minimum legal requirement for food handlers in many industries and is included in various hospitality qualifications. The training is aligned with national food safety standards and workplace hygiene procedures. |

Assessment: |
Theory: Written or verbal assessment covering food safety principles, hygiene procedures, and legal obligations Practical (including physical requirements): Participants will demonstrate hygienic food handling in a simulated environment, including correct handwashing, cleaning, and food prep practices. Note: Participants must be able to follow instructions, stand for periods of time, and handle basic food preparation tools. |
