Course Description:

This nationally recognised skill set provides the essential compliance training required to work in licensed hospitality venues across Queensland and Australia. It includes the four mandatory units for staff involved in the service of food, alcohol, and gambling:

  • SITHFAB021 – Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • SITHGAM022 – Provide Responsible Gambling Services
  • SITXFSA005 – Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety
  • SITXFSA006 – Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices

The course equips learners with the practical skills and legal knowledge to uphold safety, hygiene, and harm minimisation standards in hospitality workplaces.

    Assessment:

    Theory: Written and/or verbal assessment covering RSA, RSG, food safety, and supervision responsibilities

    Practical (including physical requirements): Participants must demonstrate hygienic food handling and appropriate communication in responsible service scenarios.

    Note: Students must have the ability to read labels, complete written assessments, and interact with customers in role play activities.

    Course Outcomes:

    Upon successful completion, students will receive Statements of Attainment for:

    • SITHFAB021 – Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol
    • SITHGAM022 – Provide Responsible Gambling Services
    • SITXFSA005 – Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety

    This skill set meets the compliance requirements for working in licensed venues across Queensland and most Australian jurisdictions.


    Refresher Training:

    Refresher training is recommended every 3 to 5 years, depending on state legislation or venue policy.

    This Nationally Recognised Training course is delivered face-to-face by qualified and experienced trainers, ensuring a high standard of practical instruction.

    Important Information for Participants:

    1. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN): Basic English, reading, writing, and numeracy skills are required.
    2. Unique Student Identifier (USI): You must hold a valid USI to enrol.
    3. Identification Requirements: Please bring three forms of identification, with at least one containing a photograph.
    4. Arrival Time: We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled course start time.
