Course Description:

This nationally recognised course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to respond to cardiac emergencies and perform CPR in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. It is suitable for both workplace and general community settings.

What Will I Learn?
  • Recognising signs of cardiac arrest
  • Performing CPR on adults, children, and infants
  • Safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Legal responsibilities and duty of care
  • Infection control and scene safety
  • Communicating with emergency services

Assessment:

Theory: Multiple-choice or short-answer questions on CPR procedures and emergency response

Practical (including physical requirements): Participants must demonstrate CPR on an adult and infant manikin in a simulated environment.

Note: CPR requires kneeling on the floor for several minutes, applying chest compressions, and using an AED trainer. Participants must have sufficient physical ability to complete these tasks.

Course Outcomes:

Upon successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for:

  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Refresher Training:

CPR certification must be refreshed every 12 months in accordance with ARC and Safe Work Australia recommendations.

  This Nationally Recognised Training course is delivered face-to-face by qualified and experienced trainers, ensuring a high standard of practical instruction.

  Important Information for Participants:

  1. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN): Basic English, reading, writing, and numeracy skills are required.
  2. Unique Student Identifier (USI): You must hold a valid USI to enrol.
  3. Identification Requirements: Please bring three forms of identification, with at least one containing a photograph.
  4. Arrival Time: We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled course start time.
