Course Description:

This course provides comprehensive training in professional manicure and pedicure treatments. Students will first complete training in the safe and effective use of electric file equipment before moving on to full-service nail care, including shaping, cuticle work, massage, polish application, hygiene, and client consultation.

What Will I Learn?
  • Client consultations and identifying nail and skin conditions

Assessment:

Theory:
Written and/or verbal assessment covering procedures, safety, and infection control

Practical (including physical requirements):
Students will perform manicure and pedicure treatments on live models using manual and electric tools.

Note: This course involves fine motor skills, close-up work, sitting or bending for extended periods, and repetitive hand movements. Good posture and dexterity are essential. Students will be required to supply live models for assessment.

Course Outcomes:

Upon successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for:

  • SHBBNLS011 – Use Electric File Equipment for Nail Services
  • SHBBNLS007 – Provide Manicure and Pedicure Services

Refresher Training:

Refresher training is recommended every 2–3 years or when updating techniques, products, or hygiene protocols.

This Nationally Recognised Training course is delivered face-to-face by qualified and experienced trainers, ensuring a high standard of practical instruction.

  1. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN): Basic English, reading, writing, and numeracy skills are required.
  2. Unique Student Identifier (USI): You must hold a valid USI to enrol.
  3. Identification Requirements: Please bring three forms of identification, with at least one containing a photograph.
  4. Arrival Time: We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled course start time.
