Course Description:

This unit provides the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a pole saw to trim and prune trees from the ground. It includes equipment preparation, hazard assessment, safe cutting techniques, and post-operational maintenance. The training focuses on safe work practices around vegetation, powerlines, and falling branches.

Note: This course involves physical tasks such as lifting and operating a pole saw above shoulder height, standing for long periods, managing cut branches, and wearing PPE. A moderate level of upper body strength and physical coordination is required.

Course Outcomes:

Refresher Training:

Refresher training is recommended every 2–3 years or when safety procedures, equipment, or work roles change.
