This nationally recognised unit provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to operate a range of basic machinery and equipment commonly used in agricultural and outdoor work environments. The training includes identifying machinery, performing safety checks, and using equipment in line with workplace procedures and manufacturer instructions.

Approx. 1 Day / Face to Face

• Identifying and selecting machinery and equipment
• Pre-start checks and routine maintenance
• Safe start-up, operation, and shutdown procedures
• Managing workplace risks and hazards
• Using PPE appropriately
• Cleaning and storing equipment after use

Upon successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for:

Refresher training is recommended every 2–3 years or when there are updates to equipment, safety requirements, or procedures.

Theory: Written knowledge assessment
Practical: Participants will be assessed on the safe operation and maintenance of basic powered machinery in a practical setting. Note: Tasks may include lifting, pushing, or pulling equipment, using hand tools, and working in standing positions. A moderate level of physical fitness is recommended.

This Nationally Recognised Training course is delivered face-to-face by qualified and experienced trainers, ensuring a high standard of practical instruction.

1. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN): Basic English, reading, writing, and numeracy skills are required.
   
2. Unique Student Identifier (USI): You must hold a valid USI to enrol.
   
3. Identification Requirements: Please bring three forms of identification, with at least one containing a photograph.
   
4. Arrival Time: We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled course start time.
