This course provides the practical skills and knowledge required to safely operate a range of basic machinery and equipment used in agricultural and outdoor work environments. Course Description:

This nationally recognised unit provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to operate a range of basic machinery and equipment commonly used in agricultural and outdoor work environments. The training includes identifying machinery, performing safety checks, and using equipment in line with workplace procedures and manufacturer instructions.

Assessment:

Theory: Written knowledge assessment
Practical:
Participants will be assessed on the safe operation and maintenance of basic powered machinery in a practical setting. Note: Tasks may include lifting, pushing, or pulling equipment, using hand tools, and working in standing positions. A moderate level of physical fitness is recommended.


Course Outcomes:

Upon successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for:

Refresher Training:

Refresher training is recommended every 2–3 years or when there are updates to equipment, safety requirements, or procedures.
