Traffic Management Implementation is aimed at persons required to read, interpret, and implement a traffic management plan. Traffic
Management Implementation provides the skills and knowledge required to implement a traffic guidance scheme for roadwork, ensuring traffic
flow is maintained and safety of the public is maximised.

Course Requirements |
The below two (2) courses are a MANDATORY requirement by The Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland (TMR) for any person(s) enrolling into RIIWHS302D Traffic Management Implementation.
PLEASE NOTE: These courses are completed online via the TMR website. Fees apply and are paid directly to TMR by the learner. CLICK HERE to access. The completion of TMR's WPT Part 1 and 2 eLearn programs will be a requirement for the issuing of TMR's TMI Card from 1st October 2019. Copies of your certificate of completion must be supplied when enrolling.

Course Duration |
Part 1: Face-to-face approx. eight (8) hours theoretical training and assessment. An open book written assessment focusing on the participant’s ability to read and interpret the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices Part 3 (MUTCD). Participants must complete all of the activities within the participant activity/assessment booklet and a minimum of two simulated in-class setups. These activities and assessments are to be completed throughout the course on the day as a formative assessment process. Part 2: Practical Assessment on live job-sites – To be completed after the eight (8) hour training session. Participants are required to produce documented evidence of 3 separate signage setups of varying complexity on live job-sites. For example: detour, shoulder work, merge lane closure, contra-flow (part road closure), frequently changing work site, mobile works etc.) One of these setups must include controlling site construction vehicles. |
Course Assessments |
Participants will be required to successfully complete a written assessment. Upon returning to the workplace the participant is required to implement a minimum of three (3) traffic guidance schemes as per the state legislative requirements. The participant must have a qualified employer representative sign off on the three (3) schemes and return to AST. |

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) |
There is no RPL/Credit Transfer available for this course. This is a TMR requirement. |
Additional Information |
Participant's personal information will be collected and disclosed to the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). This course does not qualify participants to control traffic with a Stop/Slow bat. |
