Course Overview
The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).

What Will I Learn	In this course, you will learn: Legal and other issues Debriefing/Welfare Basic Life Support (DRSABCD) CPR and AED Airway management/Choking Allergic reaction/Anaphylaxis Cardiac conditions Diabetes - Seizures Shock management Bleeding and wound care Abdominal injuries Eye and ear injuries Head injuries Burns and scalds Musculoskeletal injuries Environmental conditions Envenomation Poisons & Needle stick injuries
Course Pre-requisites	There are no pre-requisites
Course Delivery	Face-to-face only. This training is approx. 1 day
Refresher	Current industry standards state refreshers must be updated every 3 years with the CPR component being refreshed every 12 months.
Assessment	Students will be required to complete both theory and practical components of this course. *This course involves crouching down on the floor to give CPR.
