Course Overview

Following this training, Truck mounted attenuators (TMA) operators will understand the correct procedures of conducting pre-start and post operational checks, correct deployment, operational methods and pack-up of TMA, implementing appropriate plans including correct shunt forward.

Course Delivery

Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there are suitable industry training facilities.

All States Training DOES NOT OWN an attenuator truck or trailer so all participants will need access to one for the practical component of the course.

This course is suitable or TMA Operators and Traffic Management Professionals.

Prerequisite Information

Participants must hold a CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry whitecard.

Medium Rigid or Heavy Rigid vehicle licence

Roles and Responsibilities

Truck mounted attenuator operators have a very important role for ensuring the protec-tion of all crew members and staff. They provide protection from out of control vehicles or inattentive drivers in or around a work site. TMA’s are designed to safely absorb kinetic energy of a stray vehicle should it enter into the work site. All employees that drive a TMA must as a Duty of Care receive suitable and adequate training to allow the operator to safely conduct their duties and work commitments as per site requirements.

On successful completion of the training, you will receive a Statement of Attainment and you will receive a wallet sized competency card.
