This new kids first aid course developed for teachers, parents and carers will give you the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, in a range of situations for adults and children in an education and care setting.
The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).
Students will be required to complete both theory and practical components of this course.

Students who successfully complete the course will receive the nationally recognised HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting Statement of Attainment. This Statement of Attainment is from the latest version of the HLT Health training package and is the most up-to-date qualification available for first aid in health and child care.
One day - theory paperwork and practical all done on one day.
There are no pre-requisites for HLTAID004 Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting.
Current industry standards state refreshers must be updated every 3 years with the CPR component being refreshed every 12 months.
