AHC30716 - Certificate III in Horticulture

 

Course Overview

This course provides students with the skills and abilities appropriate to meet the needs of the various sectors within the horticultural industry. Study can be undertaken in a number of streams such as nursery, parks and gardens or landscape construction.

Course Content

  • Observe and record the characteristics of plants
  • Undertake basic soil analysis tests
  • Prepare and plan work site activities
  • Recognise common causes of nutrient deficiency
  • Select pest and disease controls
  • Interpret planting plans

Pre-Requisites

None 

Entry Requirements

  • 16 years + (parental consent required if under 18).
  • Mature age students
  • RPL if able to demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge.
  • A good command of written English
  • Ability to allocate appropriate study hours per week

 

Students have 18 months to complete their qualification and they are able to complete their course work at their own pace using their selected delivery option.

Selected units must be relevant to job outcomes in horticulture and must be chosen to ensure the integrity of the qualification outcome at AQF level 3

In the Certificate III in Horticulture, you will be required to complete 5 core units and 11 elective units.

Pathways

Students who successfully complete the course will receive the nationally recognised Certificate for AH30716 Certificate III in Horticulture. This Qualification is from the latest version of the AHC Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package and is the most up-to-date qualification in Agriculture & Horticulture.
